Mercy Chinwo is a Nigerian Gospel music Minister and actress whose songs have been great inspiration and blessing to her listeners. Currently signed to Eezee Conceptz record label, Mercy is a powerful vocalist and a renowned songstress in the Nigerian music industry.
Mercy Chinwo Age and Family
Mercy Nnenda Chinwo was born September 5, 1990, in Port Harcourt, Rivers state,Nigeria. She is the fourth child in a family of five (first daughter). She lost her dad at a very young age.
Mercy Chinwo Music Career
Chinwo started her musical career by lending her vocals as a backup artist to musical projects by gospel music artists such as Sammie Okposo, Joe Praize, Buchi, Chris Morgan, and Preye Odede.
She first came to limelight after winning the Nigerian Idol Season 2 in 2012. A year after winning the Nigerian Idols, she landed her first film role in Yvonne Nelson’s film, House of Gold starring alongside Yvonne Nelson, Majid Michel and Omawumi among others. She was also nominated at the 2013 Ghana Movie Awards for best music, original song.

Mercy Chinwo has also featured in many movies. This was began a year after winning the Nigerian Idol Show in 2012. As earlier stated, Mercy Chinwo was starred in the multiple awards winning movie, House of Gold, where she was featured alongside major Nigerian and Ghanaian artists including Francis Odega, Yvonne Nelson, Ice Prince, Majid Michael, and Omawumi.

Mercy Chinwo is currently managed by Mr. Ezekiel ”Eezee Tee” ThankGod, who also manages Frank Edwards.
Chinwo released her first single, “Testimony” in 2015 which was produced by record producer, Rotimi Keys, and a year later, released, “Igwe”. In 2017, she has released 4 more singles as a build up to her debut album.
Mercy Chinwo has released songs such as “Omeka Nnaya”, “Excess Love”, “Testimony”, “On a Regular”, “Igwe”, “No More Pain”, “Trust”, amongst many others.
Awards Won By Mercy Chinwo
In 2018, Mercy Chinwo was awarded the Best Gospel Artiste at the CLIMAX Awards 2018.[7] In 2019, at the maiden edition of the Africa Gospel Awards Festival (AGAFEST 2019) Mercy Chinwo was named winner in three categories namely Africa Gospel New Artist of the Year, Africa Gospel Female Artist of the Year and Africa Gospel Song of the Year (Excess Love). Notably, the categories she won contained the likes of Sinach, Prospa Ochimana and Tim Godfrey.
